Dr. Joan V. Antone, a 40+ year veteran of the public educational system, is a former administrator for the Greene County School System. Serving as principal of Greensboro Elementary School for 20 years, she held one of the longest tenures for any administrator in the district to date. During the span of her career, Dr. Antone touched the lives of thousands of children and several educators and families in the surrounding communities.
Now retired, Dr. Antone is a college professor, alongside her husband, Mr. Nicholas L. Antone, Jr. - a fellow 40+ year public educational system veteran educator at Georgia Military College in Madison, Georgia. They are also members of the Historic Springfield Baptist Church in Greensboro. A life member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Reynolds Plantation board member, a TenderCare board member, and Tri-County Mentoring Coalition founding member, Joan believes in continually providing service to those in need around her.
