Approach
Both GCPS and LOA ATLAS students take bible based classes during the school day which translate to school credit which counts toward their GPA and HOPE, and in some cases, receive college credit with select ATLAS courses. ATLAS class sequence is based on the classical education approach which leans into the neurological and social development of each child. Classes are built to equip students with the knowledge to support why they believe what they believe and how to defend it. They also acquire life skills through curriculum such as “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” among other strategic courses aimed at the future success of each child. How this is possible?
**By order of the US Supreme Court in 1952, "Released Time" programs are permitted under the following stipulations: 1) Courses are privately funded, 2) Classes occur off campus, and 3) Parents give permission for their child to participate.
Dual Enrollment
ATLAS has built several partnerships to offer our students unique opportunities. One of which is a growing partnership with Truett McConnell University. This has allowed CLC Course offerings to now include a selection of college level dual enrollment classes. Through these course offerings, students will have the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills obtained in a college level class as well as both high school and college credits simultaneously.
ATLAS Course Offerings
Below the ATLAS primary scope and sequence can be seen, beginning in Elementary. Some classes are being offered this year while others will be offered in coming years. As ATLAS CLC grows, our goal is that all of these classes will be available for students every year. As the model grows, so will the curricular structure and class offerings.
Upper Elementary School

The upper elementary curriculum is designed to introduce students to the foundational truths of the gospel. Using bible stories, songs, ryhms, and other developmentally appropriate methods to teach foundational scriptures and concepts, students will gain key knowledge of Jesus that will serve as the foundations for a growing biblical worldview and faith in Christ as they grow!
Middle School
In Middle School, courses are aimed at taking students to a deeper understanding of how scripture relates to the world around them and how to apply it to their lives. Middle school students are at the age where they begin pulling away from their families faith and worldview to make it their own. ATLAS courses are designed to take the foundational knowledge students have acquired in the elementary years and begin understanding the living nature of scripture, leading them begin developing their own faith.

The 6th grade curriculum is designed to focus on the relational nature of the Christian faith. Being rooted in the understanding that God is our good Father who created the world out of a deep love and affection and who has a design and a purpose for his children, students will learn how to find their identity in that love and then share that love with those around them. The ATLAS Biblical Logic course is designed as an introductory course with an emphasis on practical application. This course will provide students with a foundational understanding of the rules and design of sound reasoning. Activities highlight both inductive and deductive reasoning, fallacies, and the structure of syllogism. The ultimate goal of this course is to enable students to identify sound and unsound reasoning presented to them by their surrounding world while allowing students to express their own thoughts in a logical fashion, specifically as it relates to scripture. Students will be able to use critical thinking and analytic skills gained from this course throughout their education and lives, ultimately taking the skills they learn to strengthen their biblical worldview. Eighth grade students are able to take ATLAS' Leadership Development course. The curriculum is designed to assist teenagers in developing skills in personal leadership, goal setting, wise decision making, and community leadership. Students learn that God gifted them with a PURPOSE and leadership ability to lead where they are NOW, not just down the road as adults!
High School
In High School, students are truly entering into independence in regards to the way they think and interpret the world around them. ATLAS CLC Courses are designed to usher students to the development of the biblically based worldview that will direct their steps from here on out. Classes

The 6th grade curriculum is designed to focus on the relational Christian Apologetics is the lynch pin of the ATLAS Continuum and is primarily for upperclassmen who have taken other ATLAS CLC courses through middle and high school. 1 Peter 3:15 urges us as believers to be prepared to speak clearly about our faith, understanding why we follow Christ as believers. "But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect..." In the ATLAS Christian Apologetics course, students will be presented with differing worldviews and common arguments against the Christian faith. In each of these units, students will be able to wrestle with their own questions and be equipped with a deeper knowledge of historical context, scriptural application, and the tools which serve as practical defense of the "hope found in Christ". This is a course which challenges students to think and discuss the challenging concepts in a supportive environment with the leadership of knowledgeable adults.

ATLAS Tools for Success is aimed at upperclassmen who are on the cusp of entering adulthood. Based out of Steven Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People, this course examines how to understand God’s will for our lives, careers, and ministries, specifically outlining how to make wise decisions when planning for college, pursuing a career, starting a family, handling money, and leading in ministry, based upon Scripture. We will study eternal biblical principles for establishing a personal relationship with Christ, understanding our individual spiritual gifts in order to use them in ministry for God’s glory, choosing a college to attend, pursuing a particular field of and career, tithing and handling money responsibly, and becoming spiritual leaders within the family, church, and society. Students work to develop skills in decision-making, problem solving, goal-setting, self-acceptance, financial planning, college and career planning, and pursuing God’s best in all areas of our lives – all from a biblical perspective. Student study the examples of biblical menand women of faith and their dependence upon God to guide their lives and decisions. Paul’s life and ministry will guide our study of wise decision-making; the life of Jonah will serve as a guide as we seek to know how to understand God’s will for our lives and futures; and the life and leadership of Joshua will be the standard as we discuss spiritual leadership within the family, church, and society.

This course examines the truth of Scripture as it relates to the current issues facing society and the Church today. Students will discover how worldviews are formed and what components make up the framework of a biblical worldview. Students will develop skills and understanding of the issues concerning their own local community, the nation, and the world and will research how to effectively respond to them according to Scripture.

Bible Survey Courses are designed to give students a 10,000 foot view of both the Old and New Testament. These courses are a great introduction to biblical concepts and the Gospel of Christ but will also provide a meaningful look into the Bible for students of all maturities.

One of the biggest challenges we face as believers is truly understanding the immense value we hold as sons and daughters of the King. These gender specific courses are aimed at teaching students their true identity in Christ. ATLAS takes a deep dive into how each individual is created intricately and purposefully as men and women of the Kingdom. Students learn about their own giftedness, value, and purpose as they discover what it means to be "wonderfully made" as we learn in Psalm 139.with their own questions and be equipped with a deeper knowledge of historical context, scriptural application, and the tools which serve as practical defense of the "hope found in Christ". This is a course which challenges students to think and discuss the challenging concepts in a supportive environment with the leadership of knowledgeable adults.
